Chacun cherche son chat

Chacun cherche son chat is a french film that caught my eye in grade 11 while I was at Blockbuster renting the original A Streetcar Named Desire with Marlon Brando and Vivien Leigh for an English assignment. I studied and recited the monologue ("crumble and fade and - regrets - recriminations") of Blanche DuBois before she proposes to Mitch then screams "Fire" in her insanity. Yep, I even used a mock Southern accent which I cringe to think about now..

Chacun cherche son chat (When the cat's away) is a film I am often reminded of for its conclusion. Its a story about searching for her cat, which then becomes a metaphor into what she is "searching for" and where she finds it. As Chloe discovered, sometimes searching in the hardest to reach places won't get you any closer to the answers, and the answers were never so hard to find to begin with.
